De KasKantine 4.0 is comprised of both a dedicated core team and a host of volunteers from all walks of life. Together we are responsible for building and sustaining this grand experiment in urban self sufficiency and sustainable living. Volunteering at De Kaskantine means being a part of a dynamic environment with people from across the world, all here to make a difference, learn new skills, face new challenges, meet new people and make friends.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals that want to help with big and small tasks. We have learning objectives for every field. and are For all areas we have the objective to learn in this process of Building up and progress and thats way we ask for people that can commit to antlist one day off week. Depending on your interests, we have a variety of opportunities:
De Kaskantine has moved to a new location! This means we must re-assemble all of our unique systems: - solar power - rain water collection and filtering - urban garden and farming systems - aqua and hydroponics - greywater filter systems
- enthousiasme to work outdoors and autonomously? - general construction, engineering or carpentry skills? - practical experience with any of the above systems? - a motivation and interest to handle these systems in a practical way? - an interest in working independently or as part of a unique outdoor & off-the-grid collective community?
Our gardening objective is to share knowledge about growing systems and self-sustainability in small, but scalable setups. We welcome anyone interested in learning and creating with us! Every last Sunday of the month we have a Open Study Day where we learn together about different gardening Subjects.
You want to do something about food waste and can spare a few hours in your week? Then become part of de Voedselkringloop. You can either be in the picking up team, or sorting the food out, or welcoming people in the shop. See what it is all about.
