Connecting for the Climate

Climate change can often feel overwhelming, with its intricate interconnections spanning science, economics, history, and philosophy, both locally and globally, That's why we invite you to join our Meetups, where we'll explore the complexities of climate solutions together.
We host different climate meetups, ranging from a Climate Book Club to philosophical discussions and topic-focused conversations. All are meant to foster critical thinking and facilitate discussion and exchange.
Starting in the spring of 2024, we will discuss "Project Drawdown" Climate Solutions.

Engaging Climate Conversations

In our upcoming series, we will meet every 4-5 weeks to discuss one climate solution from Project Drawdown, a comprehensive guide featuring up more than 80 strategies to combat climate change. These sessions offer actionable steps applicable across different sectors. We will relating them to everyday life and potential implementation—from individual actions to community-wide initiatives.

The meetups will be at the Kaskantine and will last  1.5 to 2 hours. Tese sessions provide a platform for open dialogue and idea-sharing, emphasizing collective learning. We won't feature expert speakers but we believe in the power of collaborative learning.

Furthermore, you don't need to purchase the book; Project Drawdown offers an incredible website with all the solutions, making the book optional. What can we do against Climate Change

Addressing the multifaceted challenges of climate change involves leveraging everyone's unique resources, time, knowledge and networks. Some individuals prefer being political activists and protesters; others contribute behind the scenes. Some people connect to the issue through working in nature, others through academia, and some favor hands-on activities. Some require a philosophical approach, while for others, graphics and science suffice. All these contributions are vital and necessary.
However, a crucial point stands out: the significance of building and finding your community. Collaborating with like-minded individuals ensures you're not facing this crisis alone. Remember, addressing climate change is a marathon, not a sprint. Sometimes things can make you feel very optimistic, and other times not so much. Having a supportive community committed to long-term action is invaluable.

If you want to get involved but don't know where or how to start, we recommend taking some time to explore activities that resonate with you. You might be surprised by the array of options available where your skills, knowledge, or passion can make a difference.
